Eugene & Elinor Kotur Scholarship Trust Fund (Ukrainian Fraternal Association):
Scholarship for a student enrolled in the sophomore or higher year or graduate school of about thirty leading colleges and universities in the USA: Brown, Caltech, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Carnegie Mellon, U of Chicago, Connecticut U, Cornell (NU) U, Dartmouth, Duke, Harvard, Haverford, Indiana U, Johns Hopkins, MIT, McGill, Michigan State, U of Michigan, Notre Dame, Oberlin, U of Pennsylvania, Princeton, Purdue, U of Rochester, Swarthmore, U of Toronto, Tulane, Vanderbilt, Washington U in St. Louis, U of Washington, Williams, U of Wisconsin–Madison, and Yale only. First time applicants do not have to be members of the Ukrainian Fraternal Association. Minimum amount of award is $1,000.

Ivan Franko Scholarship Fund (Ukrainian Fraternal Association):
Scholarship for a high school senior or already attending an accredited college or university. Applicants may have to members of the Ukrainian Fraternal Association.

UFA Student Aid (Ukrainian Fraternal Association):
This scholarship is meant to defray the cost of books, and room and board. Aid is awarded for two years at $300 per year. The applicant must have completed one year of college and have a 2.0 minimum GPA. The applicant must be a member of the Ukrainian Fraternal Association for two years.

Ukrainian Violinist Scholarship:
No details are available about this scholarship which is listed in the Cleveland Institute of Music catalogue.

Ukrainian American Center Foundation Scholarship Awards:
Community College, college, university scholarships up to $1200 per academic year. Limit of two times. Must be a citizen of Michigan for 12 consecutive months. The applicant must be a full-time college student in the year following the application for the grant. Applicant must submit transcripts, an autobiography and an essay on a topic chosen by the selection committee. Deadline is June 30.

Ukrainian American Bar Association Scholarship:
The Ukrainian-American Bar Association has a scholarship fund dedicated to helping students of law.

Ukrainian Technological Society Scholarship Program:
Five permanently funded scholarships administered in Pittsburgh by the Ukrainian community. One is funded by the Self-Reliance Federal Credit Union of Western Pennsylvania.

Ukrainian National Association Scholarship Awards:
Scholarships to full-time undergraduates studying for a Bachelor’s degree and high school graduates who will be attending college in the filing calendar year. Candidates must be active dues-paying U.N.A. members for at least two years by the end of March of the filing year. Applicants are picked on the basis of financial need, course of study, scholastic record (minimum G.P.A. 2.0), activity in Ukrainian community and student life. Completed, signed, and dated application is due by March 31. All ancillary documents are due by May 1. In the academic year 2000-2001 the UNA granted $16,000 (US) to 129 students.

Ukrainian Graduate Student Assistance Program:
Limited assistance is available to full-time students of Case Western Reserve University who demonstrate financial need and who have a parent or a grandparent whom was born in the Ukraine.

Ukrainian Student Assistance Fund Scholarship:
Available to students in the Case School of Engineering, the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Graduate Studies, and each of the professional schools, this scholarship stipulates that the applicant must be a full-time student in good standing, must demonstrate financial need, and normally must have at least one parent or grandparent who was born in the Ukraine. The student must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident and must be otherwise eligible for need-based financial assistance. This scholarship may come from the same source of funds as that immediate above it.

Pauline Urban and Warren H. Bruggeman ‘46 Scholarship:
For a student enrolled in the School of Engineering or Science, with first preference given to a student of Ukrainian origin.

Taras Shevchenko Scholarship:
Recipient must be a full or part-time matriculated student of Ukrainian descent with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a minimum of 12 credits. The applicant must submit a 300 word essay (word processed) on some aspect of Ukrainian life (e.g., culture, history, economy, education, technology), past or present. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, financial need and evaluation of the essay.

Saint Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church Scholarship in memory of Mr. Pavlo Danylenko:
A scholarship will be awarded to an active member in good standing of St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Boston who has successfully completed high school and is pursuing higher learning in an academic institution. Applications for the scholarship will be due by Pascha each year. Each applicant must apply and answer three essay questions. The essay questions are: Please tell us what being an Orthodox Christian means to you. How do you think your religious education and formation will influence your life in the future? Rochester Ukrainian Federal Credit Union:
Granted to college students who are active members of the Rochester Ukrainian Federal Credit Union. Sixteen awards in 2001-2002 ranged from $500 to $1000 totalling $10,500. In choosing the recipients, the committee considers the applicant’s grade point average, SAT scores, major field of study, and participation in Ukrainian community life.

The UNWLA has been offering scholarships for years. This scholarship effort seems to be directed to impoverished students or orphans.
